Statistics - BOOOOOORING! So it seems, but there is no better way to resolve the environmental question of contamination and risk. The power and ease statistics gives you over your planning process and data can be enormously beneficial. A statistical analysis of environmental data is required in some environmental regulatory programs, but not in all. Nonetheless there are powerful reasons to apply statistical techniques to your data in order to maximize understanding of the data and minimize wasted time and money. statistics are applid to the planning process as well as to data analysis.<
The student will learn how to use statistics to develop a scientifically and legall defensible sampling plan. The student will also be familiarized with Descriptive Statistics and Hypothesis Testing. Finally, the course will explore specific regulatory applications of statistics for all sorts of environmental applications.
