Tanks Compliance Manager™

Our 2-Day Underground and Aboveground (UST/AST) Storage Tank training course is valuable for those responsible for purchasing, installing, or managing tanks. This course has been continually enhanced since it was launched in 2012.

Maintain Underground and Aboveground Tank Compliance.

Storage of fuel, oil, chemicals, wastes, and other materials in tanks is subject to detailed and stringent requirements. Changing regulations and the overlapping requirements of various agencies, regulatory programs, and industry standards further complicate compliance management.

Facility and tank owners are responsible for full regulator compliance, even when installation, service, and inspections are contracted. Designed for those responsible for overall environmental regulatory compliance or for purchasing, managing, or conducting routine owner-level inspections of underground and aboveground storage tanks, our Tanks Compliance Manager™ course will provide you with the information you need to successfully manage tanks of all types and maintain compliance with the sometimes overlapping requirements of the EPA, OSHA, local fire marshals, and industry consensus standards.

Who should attend this course?

This course is designed for those responsible for purchasing, installing, managing, or inspecting underground and aboveground storage tanks, including tanks used to store petroleum, fuels, heating oil, chemicals, and other liquids.

Facility managers, environmental professionals, safety managers, fuel managers, consultants, engineers, and others completing this course consistently recognize the value of this focused training.

What is the course format?

Tanks Compliance Manager is presented as a series of focused modules, and open discussion over a 2-day period, with frequent breaks throughout the day, and a 1-hour break for lunch.

Numerous pictures and short videos are used to explain and explore aspects of tank management and common challenges.

The course is offered in pleasant and easily accessible locations, and training venues are selected to allow you to escape distractions and focus on the presented material in a professional setting. All locations offer wireless service and Internet access so you can stay connected. Discussions among instructors and participants is encouraged to explore various aspects of tank management.

What does this course deliver?

The Tanks Compliance Manager course is presented by instructors with many years of firsthand experience with the realities of storage tank installation and compliance management. The course covers recent and upcoming changes to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Subpart I, underground storage tank regulations (40 CFR 280); spill prevention control and countermeasures (SPCC) tank requirements (40 CFR 112); effects of the 2005 Energy Bill, enforcement policy changes, and other developments. Course handout materials form a useful desk book for later reference. [Note that a detailed presentation of SPCC requirements is not included in this course, but is the focus of our Tanks Compliance Manager course.]

You will return from this course with a course binder; useful references; example documents and other tools to assist you in the future; instructor contact information for followup questions; and your notes from the presentations and open discussions.

At completion of the course, you will receive an embossed certificate for your records. If you maintain professional credentials requiring continuing education credits, Tanks Compliance Manager™  has been approved by all environmental, safety, legal, and engineering certifying bodies.
