Excellent course. The presenter made complex regulations approachable and the case studies gave me the confidence to prepare shipments correctly when I got back to my facility.

I came in just needing to sign hazardous waste manifests, but I left with a much deeper understanding of why the regulations exist and how to apply them. Well worth the two days.

The hands-on exercises with the actual regulations were the most valuable part. I’ve taken online hazmat courses before, but nothing compares to working through real scenarios with an expert in the room.

Course Description

Anyone who classifies, packages, marks, labels, prepares shipping papers for, or offers hazardous materials or dangerous goods for transportation is a “hazmat employee” under federal law—and must be trained. This includes anyone who signs hazardous waste manifests. Non-compliance exposes your organization to civil penalties of up to $60,000 per violation and potential criminal liability.

The Dangerous Goods Compliance Manager satisfies the training requirements of 49 CFR Subpart H for ground shipments, the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for air, and the IMO International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code for ocean. The course covers initial and recurrent training requirements and includes an optional lithium battery transportation module.

The presenter walks students through how to read, interpret, and apply the regulations to real-world shipping scenarios. Students work through case studies highlighting the methods, exceptions, and documentation requirements specific to each mode. You will leave with actionable knowledge and the tools to prepare compliant shipments and minimize regulatory risk.
